The aim of the bachelor thesis is the processing of literature, which deals with the issue of random mining in the forests of Europe and mainly the impact of windstorms. The work describes the following technological procedures in the processing of calamities, the principles of choosing the right mechanisms based on the situation of the calamity, legislation, economic and environmental aspects. The first chapter is focused on the theoretical analysis of the main causes of calamity and subsequent division. The second chapter deals with the processing of the largest calamity in the forests of Europe. In this chapter the specific calamities are described with a summary table. The third chapter is concentrated on specific calamities which hit Slovakia and they are also included in the overview tables. In more detailed way the wind calamity of Elizabeth is described.
