This bachelor thesis is focused on centrifugal pumps used by the Fire and Rescue Corps of the Slovak Republic. The aim of the work was to develop a detailed description, principle of operation, determining quantities and basic technical parameters, methods of marking centrifugal pumps according to the latest standards as well as a list of selected pumps used in the Fire and Rescue Service. The work consists of two chapters, which, in addition to the text, also contain pictures, photographs and graphs for a demonstration and a better understanding of the function of the centrifugal pump and its incorporation into the vehicle superstructure. The first chapter focuses marginally on the history and legislation, then deals in detail with the overall characteristics and principles of activity. There are also various constructions of centrifugal pumps and their determining quantities. At the end of the first chapter, the overall efficiency, work process and marking of centrifugal pumps are discussed. The second chapter describes the individual selected vehicles included in the Fire and Rescue Service equipped with a certain type of centrifugal pump. The conclusion of the second chapter contains a comparison of the most used types of centrifugal pumps in the vehicles of the Fire and Rescue Service.
