The bachelor's thesis deals with the evaluation of danger and explosion protection in a wooden plant, in which the process of production of wooden base plates takes place. In said production, wood is formed as a residue and in the form of wood dust, which in some concentrations can form an explosive mixture. We proceed in accordance with the valid legislation - European Directive 99 /92 / EC (ATEX 137), which was transposed into the National Council of the Slovak Republic no. 393/2006 Coll. on the minimum requirements for ensuring safety and health at work in an explosive atmosphere. The sub-objective, which is determined from the main objective, is the definition of explosion protection legislation. The following is the described wood industry in Slovakia and explosion protection in general. We characterized the dispositional and urban design of the wood operation. We analyze initiation sources in wood plants, evaluate possible sources of explosion initiation, such as hot surfaces, electrical equipment, mechanical spark, static electricity. Based on these facts, we evaluated the dangerous departments of production and took technical and organizational measures for such a risk of explosion in the wood plant, such as regular inspection, maintenance and cleaning of production machines, central suction.
