There are many types of road structures on roads, they serve to drain road surface, roadbed or to bridge some natural or artificial obstacle. Classified as road structures are also tunnels used to increase the fluency of traffic and last but not least walls to which was paid attention in this thesis. Focus was paid to retaining walls designed and judged according to European standards. The purpose of this thesis was to use different types of structures to decrease the area of embankment slope. This was possible by using of three chosen variants of retaining walls. Gravitational retaining wall, gabion retaining wall and reinforced earth block founded on micro-piles were used in the design.
