An important part of the waste management is the waste separation. Bachelor thesis work deals with the sorting of municipal waste in selected areas of university. Objects of investigation are selected classrooms, lecture halls and corridors of Faculty of Civil Engineering in Bratislava. Under review are the factors that affect waste sorting. The first chapter is devoted to theoretical definitions, which is need to know to understand the issue. The implementation of separate collection of waste is evaluated in the practical part. The result of analysis are information on the sources, quantities of unsorted municipal waste and purity of separated waste. Predicted contribution of thesis is to obtain information on the current status of waste separation and drafting the efficient sorting of municipal waste in particular institution.
