Economic growth in Slovakia and the entire EU is in the long-term dependent on the ability to support the formation of new, small companies. Creativity and enterprise are key abilities needed for future entrepreneurs, seeking assertions in the 21st century. Young people in Slovakia do not have lack of enterprise and self-confidence. The aim of this bachelor´s thesis was to chart the entrepreneurship of young people in county Žilina, to identify the main stimulus for motivation, and problems, which influence their entrepreneurship, and to propose a draft of provisions for better status identified. In the theoretical part, the attention was mainly dedicated to the history of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship of young people in Slovakia and in the world. Factors, which motivate young people to run a business, and entrepreneurship through so-called startup were discussed into more details. The questionnaire was sent in electronic form. We evaluated gathered results in written and graphical form. In conclusion, a draft of provisions to support the entrepreneurship of young people in county Žilina was presented.
