Indicators help to monitor the progress in fulfilling the principles of the green growth. Political measures and economic tools, their impact on achieving the environmental and resource productivity and impact on maintaining the natural capital and observing the environmental aspect of life quality are observed. The objective of the Master thesis was to analyse the green growth indicators from the natural asset base containing 11 specific indicators, to assess their development in the monitored period and to compare the achieved level in selected countries. The first part summarizes the theoretical background of the green growth, its goals, strategy and tools. This part also deals with specifying the term green economy in the context of green growth, environmental security in the SR, strategic document of the green growth and with clarifying the strategy of adopting the green economy in the SR. The theoretical part also covers explanation of the role and position of the OECD in relation to the green economy and measuring of the green growth. In addition, the attention is focused on the indicators and their application in individual countries. The practical part introduces specific characteristics of green growth indicators monitored by the OECD, the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic and their comparison. The result of the Master thesis is also a comparison of the indicators applied in the Slovak and the Czech Republic from the viewpoint of OECD focused on natural assets of the selected countries. Analysis of the specific indicators applied in the Slovak Republic with the evaluation of the current situation in the Slovak Republic considering the renewable and non-renewable resources is presented as well.
