The bachelor thesis has the aim the calculation of elements of an open bridge deck of a railway bridge using the new European standards. The example solved in the thesis compares the more accurate and the simplified procedures for the design of the bridge deck. In the preliminary design the deck components are designed for a combination of permanent load and vertical load from rail traffic in accordance with the simplest procedure of static calculation. The next chapter contains the calculation of interaction effects of the deck elements with the main beams using a 3D model of the bridge in the program RFEM 5.02. In the part dealing with the detailed verification are the effects of permanent load and vertical load from traffic calculated accurately and there are also calculated the effects of horizontal traffic loads and wind. Bridge deck elements are checked at the ultimate limit state and the fatigue limit state.
