Zvolen: Technical University in Zvolen, Faculty of Forestry, Department of Applied Zoology and Wildlife Management, 2019, 63 p.In this thesis we deal with issues related to the breeding and health situation of the wild boar population within Europe, but especially on the territory of the Slovak Republic. In present is infectibility of African swine fever virus infection increasing. In the first chapter of the thesis we characterize boar animals, its biology, occurrence, foraging ecology, way of life, biology of reproduction, social life, defensive and comfortable behavior. The aim of the thesis was problem processing with occurrence of the African swine fever infection in population of wild boars in the Slovak Republic as well as in other European countries. We focused on the assessment of the spleen of wild boar taken during their initial treatment and gralloched by hunters after catching, using the previous knowledge about morphology of the spleen of wild boar. The thesis deals with the issue of African swine fever viral. We have processed the evaluation of selected morphological spleen parameters of hunt down wild boars in the hunting area J XI. Vtáčnik, according to specified categories. In the fourth chapter we have also defined diseases, that infect the boar animals as Aujeszky's disease, trichinosis, pulmonary wrinkles, crucifiers, scabies and pediculosis. We also describe the spleen, which is an internal organ. Spleen can detect macroscopic signs of African swine fever viral when examining the hunt down boars, on which it reacts by triple enlarging. We have also focused on the course of a African fever infection in the Czech Republic as well as on the measures applicable to its occurrence.Key words: wild boar, spleen, African swine fever, wild boar diseases
