Kľúčové slová (ostatné):
The aim of the Bachelor thesis was to design a multifunctional gymnasium as a part of the sports complex of the student's home Mladá Garda, located in Nové Mesto district in Bratislava, and thus provide a space for various types of sports activities. The proposal was based on the need for indoor sports space, where several sports activities could be held in one place, either for individual purposes or for public events. The aim of the thesis was also to use the potential of the existing area and to respond to its negative aspects by a suitable solution. One of the main potentials was the sloping terrain of the Mlada Garda sports complex, which made it possible to create an interesting building layout. However, it was also necessary to respond to the negative impacts of the railway located in the immediate vicinity of the site. It was also imporant to solve the connection between new building and the traffic as well as parking place in front of the area. The shape of the building was firmly influenced by its own function – by the area of the gymnasium itself, which also makes it possible to divide the hall into 3 separated game fields. Designed sports facility is also complemented by other sports facilities such as a gym or indoor athletic track. However, the design of the gym building had to be adapted to the surrounding buildings, on the one hand by the symmetrically designed building of the student’s home Mladá Garda, built in the 1950s in the style of socialist realism, as well as the nearby residential buildings. The building of gymnasium is designed on two above-ground floors and one underground floor partly embedded in the ground. The facility is divided into three main units: a part for sportsmen, part for public (spectators) and part for building administration. The appearance of the building reflect an operational and structural design of the building, especially the facade solution, where the large-area glazing guides to entry the building, and connets it with spacious foyer. The glass facade of the building entrance is distinctly distinguished from the wood cladding. The dominant element of the facade is wood, creating an integral envelope of the building. Wooden material is also reflected in the interior as an additional building modifications or furniture.
