The main aim of my diploma thesis is the inventory of vascular plants and documentation of found forest communities by phytosociological records in the area of PR Starovodské jedliny aiming mainly to forest ecosystems. This area belongs to protective forests, vegetation consists mainly of mountain elements. The total number of species in the area was 170, of which 66 confirmed species found in this area by older botanic research and 24 new species, 80 known species from the resources were not discovered during field research. Phytosociological records have documented the occurrence of acid-free beech forests, beech-fir forests and spruce forests of blueberry. It is clear from the gathered information from field research that the most species of forest reservation belong to ecological groups of nitrophilic and heminitrophil species. From the valley of the Strarovodský brook, the species mostly belonged to the group of permanently wet soils - eutrophic to nitrophilous – whitch are indifferent to the temperature of their habitat.
