The aim of this thesis is to design a machining process remote control method that could be monitored, possibly adjusted; which manufacturing parameters could be altered; and that is able to send reports to the supervisors. The thesis consists of multiple parts. The first part describes the basic components that can be used in a machining device, such as electromotors and frequency converters. The next part describes the structure, specifications etc. of the PLC component – Programmable Logic Controller. The third part contains characteristics of different types of busbars used by the remote control device to collect manufacturing data. This is followed by a description of the specific busbar used for remote access to manufacturing process. The next part is dedicated to description of suitable devices for remote communication, namely PLC Siemens S7-1200, device eWon Cosy 131, frequency converter expansion module, cloud system, installation programmes, all the way to the overall wiring design.
