The diploma thesis analyzes the effectiveness of defensive and protective measures implemented in the model area of OZ Košice against damage caused by ratite beasts. The evaluation of the extent of damage to forest stands and the effectiveness of the methods of protection against animal damage used in practice was carried out at two forest reports, namely at the Jasov LS and the Svinica LS. Other factors that reduce or increase the extent of the damage were also examined. One of them was also analyzed the rates of attendance of the model area by tourists in the current state of emergency (Covid 19 epidemic), the other exposure. Within the model forest reports, representative areas were created, which were situated in the migration zones of game and at the same time they are also a biocorridor of these wild animals. The assessed stands in the age of 30 to 50 years corresponded to the target representation with their tree composition. The finding of the diploma thesis was that Cervacol extra as a means of chemical protection is not enough, as the number of animals is high. The cause of the high number of ratites is in hunting planning, the fulfillment of the plan was also recorded, but also the non-fulfillment of the plans in both cases was not real hunting plans.
