In my master's thesis I have designed the grounds of senior's house in Podhorský pás, in the locality called Prílesie, falling into the cadastral area of Bratislava - Nové Mesto urban area. While forming the design I emphasized the principles of low-energy construction, active and passive utilization of solar energy, respecting the natural environment and the use of natural materials. The design also takes into consideration the needs of seniors to see out the dignified autumn of their lives, social and medical care, safety, calm, but also the contact with the nature and society. The main building of the seniors home is designed for accomodation of the clients with the need of more intensive care and offers the complex services, from nutrition services, medical care, welness to various social activities. Three single floor accomodation blocks are designed for more mobile and active seniors in the standard of a passive house. Each house comprises of 5 single room flats. The contact with the surroundings is provided by balconies in every room and also spacious patios facing south. Also they provide a distinctive elements of architecture on the facades and they complete the overal architectonic character of the objects. Due to the flat vegetation roofs, use of natural materials and colors and minimum of hard surfaces, the objects blend together with the natural environment.
