The aim of this thesis is to provide an alternative to traditional wooden rocking horse, which has only one function -- it is intended to rocking only. My task was to design and manufacture children's demountable, variable furniture referring to folk culture with a positive environmental impact on the environmental that meets the ergonomics, functional, technical, economic and aesthetic properties and is interesting for the users -- children in preschool age. The dissertation looks at the history of rocking horses, trends in children's furniture, its suitability and functionality, references to folk art and design and manufacturing solutions. It describes the creative process from research -- inspiration to the final product design. It contains 2 D designs -- sketches, 3D renderings, photographic documentation that documents the entire design process. The result is furniture that offers 3 types of use: chair, rocking horse and rocking chair designed for preschool age children.
