Zvolen LF, TUZVO, 2018. 44p. This thesis is aimed at a technological point of view in forestry, namely the Wankel engine use in forestry mechanisation. In this problematics we describe the engine operation principle, it´s advantages and disadvantages against spark ignited and diesel engines, which are mostly used in a forestry cars and machines as main power source. Main aim of this thesis is to elucidate and describe the Wankel rotary engine because this engine type is not considered as an often used type. Also it is almost unknown notion for foresters and society in common. In this topic we introduced its inventor and its consecutive development. We also highlighted its current development and companies which are testing and using it in their products. We also aimed at its use for a Recuperative cable equipment as a suitable engine for flywheel powering.
