ŠKARBOVÁ, Nikola: Programming Location-based Applications Using MIT App Inventor 2. [Bachelor Thesis]. Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. Faculty of Natural Sciences and Informatics. Supervisor: PaedDr. Viera Michaličková, PhD. Degree of Qualification: Bachelor of Teacher Training and Education Science. Nitra: FNSaI, 2022. 55 p. The bachelor thesis aims to describe the possibilities of the MIT APP Inventor 2 programming environment in connection with the processing of geolocation data. The work consists of a theoretical part, where we focus on the basic definition of the Android mobile platform. In connection with geolocation activities in school informatics, we explain the concept of geolocation and describe examples of popular geolocation applications. We describe the MIT App Inventor 2 programming environment, where we focus on the entire process of creating applications, from setting up the computer and mobile device to creating and installing an application on a mobile device. In the practical part, we focus on the description of basic components and blocks related to the processing of inputs from the location sensor and work with a digital map. We also present applications created by us focused on geolocation, their design, and solution implementation. Finally, we will describe application testing, how to extend these applications, as well as recommendations for programming these applications with students.
