The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part explains the main aspects of sustainable development, the landscape and its management, in the context of the current legislation of the Slovak Republic. Spatial planning processes are an indispensable tool for effective landscape protection. Thus, it is emphasized that the landscape-ecological plan should be an essential part for all integrated landscape management tools. This plan is being processed in the Slovak Republic according to the internationally recommended landscape-ecological planning methodology LANDEP. The application part of the thesis characterizes the interest area and selected landscape-ecological analyzes and syntheses are elaborated according to the mentioned methodology for the territory of the cadastre Žiar nad Hronom. In these steps, a thorough analysis of the characteristics of individual landscape structures was developed. From the analysis data, abiotic and landscape-ecological complexes are created in the synthesis step. Outputs from both steps are also published in the whole result section.
