The objective of final essay was to review deer management for the past 20 years in hunting region J XXIII Humenné. Essay is divided into eight main chapters. First chapter is focused on describing deer, their taxonomy, morphology and ethology. In second chapter we look into characteristics of each breeding units that belongs into the hunting region in terms of climate, water, geographical characteristics, vegetation and fauna. In following chapter three and four we are describing essay objectives, methods of obtaining theoretical informations but also processes and methods during evaluation of breeding and hunting schemes in each breeding unit. In chapter five up to chapter seven we are looking into evaluating of whole hunting area in terms of development of density JKS and NKS, trophy and age structures of deer. Based on JKS and NKS, fulfillment of breeding and hunting plans for last twenty years, we are evaluating deer management and we propose measures for impromevent in the given hunting region.
