The aim of the diploma thesis is the elaboration of literature, which deals with the system of monitoring the operating parameters of transport sets at VšLP in Zvolen. The work is focused on the use of the RMC system, which was installed on selected Scania P450 and Scania G440 vehicles. To understand the issue, the work deals with theoretical background and description of individual concepts, such as transport development in Slovakia, characteristics of vehicles, technological procedures of loading and timber transport, timber transport and, last but not least, a system of monitoring the operation of timber vehicles. The key values from the results pointed at the positive impact of the introduction of the RMC system, the average consumption on the Scania P450 was 1,08 l per 1 m3 of wood, and after the introduction it dropped to 0,81 l on this vehicle. The average fuel consumption in l on both monitored vehicles decreased, even on the Scania G440, from an average consumption of 0,46 l per 1 km to 0,19 l per 1 km. From the database of the RMC system, which was installed on the vehicles of VšLP TU in Zvolen, we processed the results and came to the conclusion that reducing fuel consumption on vehicles can improve the enviromental profile of VšLP in Zvolen. The results of the work point at the positive impact of the installation of the RMC system in the investigated means of transport, which after all leads to more efficient operation of VšLP in Zvolen.
