The aim of the diploma thesis was to state the ways of damage to forest stands by game and to suggest the possibilities of defence and protection of forest trees against the effects of ungulate game. The work consists of theoretical and practical parts. In the theoretical part we describe the methods and causes of damage to forest stands by animals and the possibilities of protection against damage to forest stands. We characterize the mechanical, chemical and biological protection of forest stands. In the practical part we present the inventory and evaluation of woody plants according to the degree of damage on the created parallel experimental plots in the locality, which is located near Zámutovské rocks - JPRL 193_1. The material and financial preparation for the implementation of the research plan is described, as well as the construction of parallel fenced and unfenced experimental plots. The observations were made during one calendar year from 6th April 2019 to 4th April 2020. During the observation period, the number of healthy individual plants in fenced areas increased by 11 % for maple and by 12 % for ash. In unfenced areas, the increase in maple was only 9 % and in ash decreased by 0,7 %. In fenced areas the percentage increase of destroyed individual plants was 8 % for maple and 15 % for ash. The percentage of destroyed individual plants in unfenced areas was higher than in fenced areas, in maple 10 % and in ash 19 %.
