Pondelík, Marek: Video archiving of the natural wealth of Slovakia. [Master thesis] - Technical University in Zvolen, Faculty of Ecology and Environmental Studies, Department of Forest Resource Planning and Informatics. Thesis supervisor Ing. Martin Mokroš, PhD. Qualification level: Engineer (Ing.). Zvolen: Faculty of Ecology and Environmental Studies, 2020, 86 p.The main goal of our work was digital video archiving of the natural wealth of Slovakia using a panoramic camera with a viewing angle of 360 degrees. The video processing took place in the environment of the editing software VIRB Edit from the company Garmin. Furthermore, we focused on the design and verification of a suitable methodology for collecting and processing data from a 360 ° panoramic camera for use in virtual reality. As the second goal of the diploma thesis, we set the verification of the possibilities of using a crowdsourcing platform for obtaining 360 ° videos, which were filmed by the public in a purely natural environment and uploaded to the server of the website „www.youtube.com“. As a result of obtaining 360 ° videos from the public, we created a database of accessible videos that met the set criteria and marked their location on the map. The third part of the thesis was an alternative use of one of the methods of photogrammetry. Using ground-based photogrammetry, we were able to generate point clouds, which served as the basis for the creation of three-dimensional models of objects and environments. The resulting products, like the videos from the first part of the work, can be played through devices that support virtual reality. When creating the work, we emphasized the quality of the video, the overall impression and, of course, the fluency of video playback not only on a computer monitor but also through a headset for virtual reality.
