The area of European importance Lúčanská Fatra is characterized by a considerable frag-mentation of the surface and a very cold and humid climatic climate. In this area occur ha-bitats as well as a number of species of European and national importance. About 80% of the area is covered with forests and rainforests, which are mostly composed of woody be-ech and spruce. ÚEV Lúčanská Fatra is a popular recreational and sports locality, which is used in winter mainly by skiers and in summer by tourists. Given that this area was declared an area of European importance on 14 July 2004 and has not yet been developed a care program, this work is focused on its development.
