The bachelor's thesis deals with the design of explosion protection from the source of combustion initiation for a selected service, which was a gas station. The gas station includes flammable liquids and gas cylinders, which represent a risk of explosion and fire. We qualified the risks by the method of FMEA analysis by the effects of failures and their consequences for underground tanks and pumping stations of the gas station service. None of the devices is in the critical zone, expressing a high criticality and a fundamental probability of failure. We evaluated the initiation sources in accordance with STN EN 1127-1: 2012 Explosive atmospheres, Explosion prevention and protection. Part 1: Basic concepts and methodology. We evaluated the following dangerous initiation sources for the gas station - flame, hot particles, hot surfaces, electrical equipment, static electricity, lightning strike and traffic accidents. Through an overall evaluation, we proposed technical and organizational measures of explosion protection for the gas station.
