In this bachelor's thesis we solve the problem of bionomy of the europen spruce bark beetle with an emphasis on the condition of forest stands and the temperature-dependent development of its population. We will deal with methods of control, protection and defense against this pest.Muránska Planina National Park is one of the few places in Europe with such a diverse fauna and flora in which there are many glacial relics of endemic species. However, this National Park is also marked by calamity caused by the spruce bark beetle.The result of this work will be an evaluation of the current state of spruce stands in the Muránska planina National Park on the basis of records of processed and unprocessed calamities and according to the capture from pheromone traps, we estimate the development of the population for the following years.
