The work deals with the determination of selected parameters of predominantly fine woody debris and residues after logging using close range photogrammetry. The data come from the inventory of deadwood in selected calamity areas in the area of VŠLP TU in Zvolen. The sampling was performed by applying a randomized systematic sampling design. The state of the individual sampling plots was captured by a digital camera based on the principles of close range photogrammetry. Orto-photos of sampling plots were derived from the photographs using the Agisoft Photoscan Professional software. Tests examining the precision and the accuracy of the number of deadwood pieces and deadwood coverage were performed on 74 selected images. To apply modern methods to quantify the components of forest ecosystems is a progressive procedure and can be helpful in challenging field measurements.
