The main aim of the diploma thesis is an analysis of development of the timber trade in the Slovak Republic. The timber trade represents inseparable part of wood production cycle and cycle of wood use. The content of theoretical part of the thesis is an analysis of issues of the timber market and the timber trade in Slovakia, issues of the production conditions of forest stands in the Slovak Republic and issues of socio-economic conditions related to the wood production and wood sale. In the thesis, we monitor the development of raw softwood and hardwood supplies to the domestic and to the foreign market. Using regression analysis, we examine the possibility of using a suitable trend line for the purpose of the analysis of the development of raw wood supplies. One part of the diploma thesis is a correlation analysis of the dependence of the relation between raw wood supplies and incidental felling, by which we determinate the extent of the affection incidental felling impact on supplies of the softwood and hardwood grades and the timber market in the Slovak Republic.
