The aim of the presented bachelor thesis is to determine the occurrence of burnout syndrome in members of the Fire and Rescue Service. The bachelor thesis has a theoretical character and is divided into two chapters. The first chapter deals with the characteristics of the Fire and Rescue Corps, its history, basic mission and scope. Subsequently, the profession of firefighter and the psychological service in the Fire and Rescue Corps are introduced. In the second chapter, attention is paid to the burnout syndrome, its definition, possible causes and symptoms of the burnout syndrome. Furthermore, the work deals with the possibilities of treatment and prevention on the part of the individual and the organization and the various stages of the burnout syndrome. It also contains proposals for preventive measures against work stress and burnout.
