The aim of the bachelor thesis is to highlight the issue of disinfectants, which we currently encounter due to the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19 on a daily basis. Thanks to the use of disinfection that pathogenic and undesirable microorganisms are eliminated in a targeted manner, and thus their further spread is prevented. However, it is important to keep on mind the safety precautions that must be observed for each type of disinfection. Especially in chemical disinfection, using hydroxides, acids and their salts, halogens, alcohols, aldehydes and others. It is also necessary to consider a number of factors affecting its effectiveness before using a given type of disinfection. To achieve the main aim, a literature search was prepared focusing on disinfectants, their characteristics, distribution and chemical composition. Their effectiveness in different types of environments is compared. In the selected company, the provision of ozone disinfection during the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19 was evaluated as the most appropriate. Based on the findings, it can be stated that currently there is no universal way of using disinfection suitable for the effective destruction of all types of pathogenic and undesirable microorganisms in various types of environments. Disinfection must be carried out thoroughly at regular intervals to prevent the re-spread of pathogenic and undesirable microorganisms.
