The aim of the bachelor thesis is to characterize the flame burning of wood on the basis of literature search and various experiments performed in laboratories. The work presents the result tables, graphs, formulas and pictures obtained by a search of scientific articles. The current state chapter is focused on wood as an important raw material, its physical and chemical properties and on the wood burning process. The work also pays more attention to the description of individual parts of the tree, as well as forest fires. The main part of the work is the characteristics of changes in wood after loading with various heat sources from the introduction of laboratory tests and their results. The final part lists the main factors of material and environment that affect flame and flameless burning.
