This dissertation is dedicated to the issue of social skills in cultural and educational workers. The goal was to propose a training program targeting the relevant social skills and subsequently empirically prove its efficiency. The paper is constituted by a theoretical and an empirical part and structured into six chapters. The theoretical part consists of four chapters, supported by the works of local and foreign experts on the matter. In the first chapter, an effort is made to shed some light on an cultural educational worker´s profession, employing a brief description of how the job evolved up to its current, diverse understanding. We describe a wide range of actions in relation to the specifications of a cultural educational worker. In the final of the first chapter, the personal predispositions and traits ideal for the job are emphasized and the proposed model is presented. The second chapter concerns the issue of social competence, understood as a multidimensional construct constituted by several components. In this chapter, a diverse understanding of the term by various authors is also presented, as well as several social competence models. There is special attention paid here, to social skills as a content element contained within social competence. Given the continuity in terminology and content, in the third chapter, social intelligence is the center of attention. The fourth chapter is dedicated to social skill training and the conditions of its establishment, execution and evaluation of its efficiency. The instructor, with the key role they play in the process, is also mentioned. In the empirical chapters, the methodological understanding of the issue at hand is described together with the goals, research questions and hypotheses, the research methodology and file. In the following parts, the interpretation of the results is discussed, also analysed in the discussion. In the conclusion, some recommendations are given based on the research..
