This diploma thesis is focused on the evaluation of the damage of the remaining stand and soil, caused by various forestry technologies of timber transportation in the area of University Forest Enterprise in Zvolen (VŠLP). We examined tractor, animal and harvester technology. Individual measurements were conducted in six stands in which a thinning and renewable cut had been carried out. Experimental plots in each stand were established according to stand area. We detected amount of damaged trees, amount of remaining trees, amount of harvested trees, size of the wound and its character, the distance of the damaged trees from the transportation line and the position of the wound on the tree trunk on each experimental plot to determine damage of remaining stand. We measured the data about the rut depth using the cross profile, we took soil samples to assess its humidity and bulk density on each experimental section to determine damage of the soil. The biggest average percentage of damage of the remaining stand (21.92 %) was detected with the CTL technologies. Skidder technology reached 17. 76% and the animal technology caused 17. 17 % of damage. The rut depth by all of the technologies reached the third and fourth degree of soil damage. These damages was considered as mild and medium damage. We detected higher humidity and bulk density of the soil in compacted ruts than in undamaged soil. This was caused due to the influence of heavy machines, which changed soil properties.
