The integrated rescue system is a system based on a cooperation of different rescue and emergency units, state administration authorities and body corporates and natural persons for the purpose of solving rescue, emergency and liquidation activities and situations. Not only we used the specialized and scientific literature when writing this thesis, but also we made use of various laws and regulations dealing with rescue and emergency activities. Our bachelor thesis is focused on comparing the Slovak integrated rescue system to similar rescue systems in different states which belong to the European Union. The list of states compared in this thesis involves the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Republic of Poland, the Federal Republic of Germany and the Kingdom of Sweden. We drew attention to the contrast based on the different amounts of active rescue units of the particular countries. All of these active rescue units are included in the rescue system. As a conclusion, we recommended some suggestions which might be helpful in the field of rescue activities in the Slovak Republic.
