The Bachelor thesis deals with the UAV and their utilisation in individual sectors, but mainly in forestry, agriculture as well as mapping the earth surface. Subsequent it deals with the evaluation of obtained aerial images of the selected location Sielnica. The thesis is divided into main chapters and subchapters. The individual chapters discuss the issue of UAV utilisation, respective legislation in Slovakia and abroad, as well as the types of the sensing devices. The fourth chapter deals with the individual data obtained from contactless measurement using the UAV and their subsequent utilisation in geography, geology, geodesy, cartography and other related disciplines. The fifth chapter is devoted to the application of data obtained using the UAV. The sixth chapter is focused on the experimental material (GATEWING X100). The seventh chapter illustrates the processing of RGB images in the programme AGISOFT Photoscan, where the point clouds, digital altitude models and orthophoto mosaic in three different qualities – low, medium and high were compared. The conclusion of the thesis is focused on the potential of UAV utilisation in mapping and forestry.
