The aim of the diploma thesis is to prove the influence of selected meteorological elements on the moisture of forest litter in connection with the degree of fire hazard. The measurements themselves were preceded by the calibration of a measuring device for measuring the moisture content of Norway spruce litter. Field measurements were performed around the Zvolen basin for the growth of wood of the Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris), European beech (Fagus sylvatica) and Norway spruce (Picea abies) in a forest interior and an edge of the forest. In the period from 1.4. until 30.9.2020 we monitored and analyzed the development of air temperature, total precipitation and relative humidity. The measured values were the subject of the balance in connection with the course of the mentioned meteorological elements as well as the degree of fire hazard. The fires in the vicinity of the evaluated area were compared with the days of high and very high fire hazard.
