The bachelor thesis is focused on the monitoring of protected vascular plants on the nature trail in the National Nature Reserve Juráňova valley in the Western Tatras. Botanically the richest and most interesting part is called Tiesňavy, which is threatened by excessive concentration of tourists. The content of the thesis emphasizes the importance, endangerment and protection of protected plants from a legislative point of view. The mapping took place during the vegetation period in 2020. The output of the work is a map with accurate GPS location of 19 protected species and recorded number of individuals within each of the species. The total number of mapped individuals is 1 781 and they are classified in 7 families. The current occurrence of the found protected species is compared with the occurrence at the time of the establishment of the reservation (year 1963). 12 species of protected vascular plants match with species in 1963.
