This dissertation pays closer attention to the environmental issue that is connected to animal abuse and torture seen by the forensics psychology. The main aim of the theoretical part of this dissertation is to familiarise people with facts about the motives of people torturing animals in Slovakia and the consequences this can lead to using available literature. This dissertation also includes in depth environmental protection and how it is executed in order to prevent such actions using legal practices. In addition to that, the execution of environmentalism in Slovakia is briefly described. This dissertation emphasises statistics of animal torture and abuse in Slovakia throughout 2019-2020. The aim of the empirical part of this dissertation is to find out how well is public educated on this topic and whether they have previously experienced any issues related to this problematic using a survey. The given information is then compared to the information from criminal statistics of the Slovakian police force.
