Deer is an indigenous species of game in Slovakia. e is undoubtedly one of the most impressive representatives of our hunting game. The Slovak diversity of natural conditions creates great preconditions for this species of game for its further development. The aim of the presented bachelor thesis was to evaluate the hunting management of this game in the Rožňava breeding unit for the last twenty years, in relation to its density and its trophy quality. The work includes zoological and systematic classification of te species, its biology and ethology and the importance of this species of game in Slovakia. The work also contains a description of the management of breeding and hunting of deer, criteria for breeding this species and evaluation of trophies by the CIC method. Furthermore, the work includes a description of the natural conditions of the area of interest, its hunting area and the characteristics of hunting grounds, which the area includes. In this work, we analyzed the standardized stem stocks, spring stem stocks, the total loss of deer, the sexual structure of hunting and the trophy quality of deer in the Rožňava kennel for the period 2001- 2020. By comparing these data, we evaluated the development and trophy quality of deer in this area over twenty years. The results of the work thus represent a contribution to the knowledge of development and trophy quality in the monitored area.
