At the present time, it is increasingly difficult to maintain the economic stability of countries without destroying the environment. Due to this reason, the concept of green economy followed by green growth was created. The green growth is an important tool proving the need to combine the environment protection with the economic development of society. The aim of the Bachelor thesis is to evaluate the sustainability and green growth in the Slovak Republic using selected indicators. State-of-the art in forestry was investigated. A questionnaire in order to obtain necessary information was compiled. The Bachelor thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter deals with the theoretical framework for green growth and green economy as well as their connection with the concept of the sustainable development, social development and the socially responsible business. In the second chapter the indicators of green growth are defined. The last chapter is focused on the application of a questionnaire survey among forest enterprises and the subsequent evaluation of the situation in the Slovak Republic.
