Qualification degree: Master of Science, abbreviated “Ing” Zvolen: Technical University, 2020. 74 pp.The aim of the thesis is to analyze the performance of enterprises at various stages of wood processing using benchmarking procedures based on the principles of financial and economic analysis. The purpose of the financial and economic analysis is to summarize key financial data for the four selected companies. The analysis was based on accounting documents and internal data of LESY Slovak Republic, state-owned enterprise, Metsa Tissue Slovakia s.r.o., Rettenmeier Tatra Timber, s.r.o., Bukocel a.s. The application of selected methods identified selected strengths of companies that need to be maintained, but also the weaknesses that need to be improved or eliminated. Finally, there is a proposal for solutions to maintain, improve or subsequently eliminate unsatisfactory financial results. Based on the final comparison of the monitored companies, he achieved the best results of the monitored companies in the company Lesy Slovenskej republiky, š.p. in almost all analyzed indicators.
