The aim of the work was the statistical evaluation of environmental offenses in the district of Žiar nad Hronom and an overview of cases against the environment in the district of Žiar nad Hronom. The work contains the definition of the term environment and the division of its components, a description of the punishment of perpetrators for violation of legislation against the environment and the application of sanctions for violation of legislation. Furthermore, the work focuses on the historical development of legislation, offenses and crimes against the environment in Slovakia and in the world. Part of the work is also an analysis of the agenda of the Department of the Environment, violations of regulations in the field of water, air, soil and other components of the environment. The work offers evaluation and description of solutions to environmental problems, prevention, proposals for measures and monitoring of the state of the environment.
