The diploma thesis deals with the detailed assessment of thermophilic forest-steppe communities occuring in masif Rokoš and in cadaster areas of Uhrovec and Uhrovské Podhradie villages. Forest steppe communities are located in sunny expositions and warm and dry areas on carbonate rocks. The measuring took place in the south part of Strážovské mountains in massif Rokoš where 4 research areas were created. In each of these areas the damage of wood species was assessed and basic taxation–dendrometric values were measured in order to be statistically evaluated. Realized measurings and assessments indicate that the only common and abundant wood species in these areas is the Downy oak (Quercus pubescens Willd.), which reached various bud thickness in range of 5,8 cm to 42,8 cm, height in range of 2,3 m to 11,7 m and the height of tree tops level vary between 0,7 m to 7,7 m according to particular localities. On the ground of these differences similarity of localities had been tested by the means of LSD intervals which is closely described in the subhead. Last but not least the research outlined that the area with fewest similarities is Jankov Vŕšok, which markedly differs in bud thickness, and both the height and the height of tree tops level.
