This diploma thesis deals with the determination of awareness and preferences of the adult population in Slovakia regarding a wooden construction and the subsequent statistical processing of the obtained data. The first chapter presents the characteristics of wooden constructions. It focuses on a history of wooden constructions and the evaluation of their current state and advantages. It also names the basic division of the structural systems of wooden constructions and their detailed definition. The subject of the second part is marketing research, the definition of the basic methods of research as well as the characteristics of the used methods of statistical processing. This chapter defines the terms such as absolute and relative abundance, confidence intervals of relative abundance with the basic set, the dependence of two categorical characters, etc. The third and most important part of the work aims at the statistical processing of the data database. In this section, the selected parameters are processed through descriptive statistics. Next confidence intervals of relative frequencies were performed on selected parameters. The main goal of the thesis was the statistical evaluation of dependencies in 4 specific cases. The results showed a statistically significant dependence in all investigated cases. This knowledge can be of benefit to the manufacturers of wooden constructions themselves, as it provides the information on the current requirements of potential customers. The results can also be beneficial for marketing companies that cooperate or will cooperate with producers of wooden constructions.
