RAJČEKOVÁ, Veronika: The influence of different stand tending on growth reaction of beech on climate change (Bachelor thesis)- Technical university in Zvolen, Faculty of Forestry, Department of Forest Resource Planning and Informatics. Supervisor of bachelor thesis: Ing. Michal Bošeľa, PhD. Zvolen: FF TUZVO, 2020. 47 p.Every day, the issue of climate change and its impact on the main tree species in forest stands is being addressed more. Trees can react differently to these changing condition, and it is important to study the effect of thinning in stands. Recent studies say that tree productivity has been increasing in recent times, but rising temperatures, longer droughts and less rainfall can have a negative effect on increment. My thesis focus on the influence of different stand tending on growth reaction of beech (Fagus sylvatica) on climate change. My research focused on 4 long term research plots in Kalša, Staré hory, Motyčka a Cigánka. In Kalša and Cigánka, forest stands have 100% abundance of beech. Stare hory and Motyčky have mixed forest stands. In every location there were established 3-5 plots, one of them was control plot without thinning, on the others were used different types of thinnings. From every plot we have taken circa 30 trees.I have found that beech was most sensitive to climate in Kalša. This location had highest temperature and aslo was the most dry, it was located in altitude of 520 metres above sea level. On the other plots climate sensitivity was not observed. We can assume that location Kalša is warmer then the others, with less precipitation and reactions of trees are more visible. We found that thinnings does not affect climate reactions of beech and correlation between increment and climate characteristics are very similiar and differences are statisticly insignificant.
