The aim of the thesis was to summarise the knowledge about ethics and etiquette used during business negotiations and interpretation of peculiarities related to different countries and nations. The countries: Slovakia, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, China, Japan and Saudi Arabia were compared. Descriptive and comparative methods were used to analyse the data. The result of this issue is the inevitability of implementing ethics and etiquette during business negotiations with foreign business partners. Certain general regulations are applied universally in all countries, e. g. formal business attire. Greeting, handshakes, time perception, exchange of gifts or colours vary from country to country. It is essential to make oneself familiar with these requirements in order to achieve successful result of business negotiations and to avoid faux pas.
