This thesis is mainly focused on evaluation of risks connected with wood chips storage. Introduction of thesis is dedicated to dendromass as renewable source of energy. We describe this source, evaluate its present usage and analyse possible scenarios of development in terms of using this source in the future. Main content of this thesis focuses on product of processed dendromass- wood chips. This source of energy has its technical standards and regulations associated with its manipulation. These rules are also analysed. Wood chips as every biological material is affected by many biological processes causing its degradation connected with many risks. Analysis of these risks is another subject of this thesis where we are mainly focused on self-ignition. For the purposes of this thesis, one covered store was picked, this was used as a practical example to analyse factual situation and to compare it with applicable standards and regulations. Proposals to provide improvements for founded facts are presented as output of this analysis. There are also 3 temperature measurements which have been provided in this store. Obtained data offer examples of possible causes of self-ignition. Main aim of this thesis is to make proposals of measures which should lead to rationalising of storage process with motive of increasing fuel efficiency and decreasing risks. Importance of this thesis resides in common mistakes description and in designing system to avoid them.
