The assignment of my bachelor thesis was to create a multifunctional object of Gallery in the Javorníky mountains in the village Lazy pod Makytou. In Slovakia we are often faced with the fact, that the important figures that formed our history are forgotten. This is one of the reasons why the designed object is dedicated to a significant personality of the region, the first educated Slovak painter Želmíra Duchajová Švehlová, a local native. Since the designed object will be situated on the land connected with the existing cycle route it will be enriched by the function of a cafeteria with a capacity of 20 people, offering the social backround. The building is connected to the local road with six parking spaces, including disabled people. Since the land is in touch with the cycle route, it also has stands for bicycles. The mass and its stocking into the space results from the nature of the region, the architecture alligned with the nature reservation Čertov nearby and the climatic conditions. The shape of the Gallery combines the traditional with a touch of modern architecture and despite the minimalist concept the goal is to this work was a distinctive and attractive feature. The layout is based on the concept of mass. On the first floor there is a cafe and exhibition - works. On the second floor there is an exhibition biography. There is one of the fully-glazed surfaces in the cafe and in the part of the gallery on the second floor there is a second one, with a view on the large apple orchard. The dominant feature of the gallery is a large-format impressionist painting, Flowering apple tree. Apple tree, growing directly on the vegetation roof space of the gallery, reminds us of the most important work of the author. Below the roof is a suspended root that gives the impression that it belongs to a living apple tree above and thus enriches the exhibition itself and points on the return of the author to the roots. The building is designed in a low-energy concept with a minimum number of employees.
