Movement areas of the Aerodrome, where the movement of the aircraft is carried out, have various functions. Runways are devised for takeoff and landing, taxiways are devised for taxiing and further the aprons for parking, maintenance and putting aircraft a side. This thesis focuses mainly on the technical requirements of the paved movement aerodrome areas. The taxiways should be designed in such way to order to provide for secured and fluent movements of the aircrafts. Moreover, the thesis concentrates on the evaluation of the current width arrangements of the taxiway on the airport in Bratislava. The aim of this thesis is to come up with a suggestion of the extension of the taxiway for the critical aircraft Boeing 747-400 according to general recommendations for secured and fluent movement. Furthermore, the thesis presents the design of a new pavement at the site of the extension of taxiway, as well as the layout of the reconstruction of the pavement of the existing taxiway. The design is planed to be in accordance with the internationally aplicable norms L14 - Aerodrome design and operations.
