The main aim of the thesis was to develop proposals for the elimination of illegal dumping sites in the municipalities of Veľké Dravce, Kalonda and Šávoľ. The thesis consists of theoretical and application part. In the theoretical part of the thesis, legislation in the area of waste management, waste management characteristics in the Slovak Republic and the issue of waste landfilling were elaborated. In the application part of the thesis, the issue of illegal dumping sites in selected municipalities was being solved. Field research and questionnaire survey have provided a lot of information about the given issue. On the basis of these information, specific proposals to improve waste management and to eliminate illegal dumping sites in individual municipalities were developed.
