The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part we gradually characterise the terms business negotiation and its participants and the concept of communication. Next, we define the term non-verbal communication. We describe the functions of non-verbal communication. We explain the concept of body language and specify the terms - kinesics, haptics, facial expressions, gestures, vision, proxemics, posturology and paralinguistics. Then we characterize EQ and first impression. In the practical part we focus on non-verbal communication in business negotiations. We define the principles of non-verbal communication in business negotiations. We describe the use of body parts in non-verbal communication. We define the most commonly used gestures and their meaning according to literature. We will compare the literature data with the data obtained from the survey participants. Based on the comparison of survey results and literature data, we will find out to what extent the perception of gestures coincides with literature. Which gestures have the highest and the lowest match.
